The .net magazine awards

It's that time of year again, time to vote in the .net awards.

Each year .net magazine holds awards for the international web industry. It starts by asking for nominations, these nominations all get collated and are then opened up for public voting. Once the votes have all been counted the top three in each category are revealed, and a group of many judges vote on the winners.

This year you will see that both Drupal and I have been nominated. Drupal is up for the "Open source app of the year" and I am up for "Developer of the year".

I am quite shocked by my nomination because I was not expecting it, but really pleased and excited. I would really appreciate your vote, and so would Drupal.

On the subject of .net magazine, I also have an article in this month's magazine. In this issue I walk through creating a Drupal 7 module. Across the four pages I discuss creating the info file, an admin settings page using hook_menu, and altering the node form using hook_form_alter. I hope this is a good introduction for new developers into Drupal.
